Welcome!

The 2023 Fall Conference of the Oregon State Beekeepers Association takes place in bee-autiful Bend October 27–29 at the Riverhouse Convention Center, Riverhouse on the Deschutes, 3075 N Business 97, Bend OR 97703—and at our kitchen tables! Our hybrid options: Attend in Person or Attend Online. We will again use the Zoom platform for all who are participating online.

We invite you to join with us in engagement with our fine cast of 2023 presenters, seen at a glance on our Tentative Agenda for this year’s scheduled events and at: Presentations and Presenters. They will be sharing current research, updates, and perspectives they’ve gained on some of the daunting issues we all face. In addition, we will be able to take time check out our supportive Exhibitors, Break Sponsors, and Advertisers! You can view and download the conference program HERE.

Among conference extras this year are preconference Events on Friday, the Honey Show, and Auctions, both Online as well as On Site. Those who are attending in person will find a number of fine options for Meals and Lodging in the Bend area, including the conference Luncheons and the Banquet, as well as options for additional Fun in Bend! Plan to arrive early and stay late if you are attending in person; it’s such a lovely place on our planet.

For registration online, go to Registration. (Note that you can review the  Conference Registration Form to access pricing prior to going through the steps involved in online registration.) For registration by mail, please download and complete the Conference Registration Form and send with a check or money order made payable to OSBA to the address listed on the form. For both online and mail-in registration, be sure to indicate whether you will be attending in person or online, and please take care in providing your email address and mailing address. We will need your email address to provide access to the streamed conference and recordings. Although it seems unlikely at this point, we may need to go entirely virtual—depending on state, county, and event center guidance. In that case, we will mail programs to all who are registered.

Please note the recent change from what was previously stated: We will no longer be mailing conference programs to registrants choosing to attend online. The program will be available online for viewing and for download.

The deadline for preregistration at a reduced rate is September 27, 2023. Thus, mail-in registrations need to be postmarked on or before September 27 in order to receive the lower preregistration rate. Mail-in registration remains open after that date, though at the regular conference cost. The deadline for postmarking mail-in registrations is October 14, 2023. Similarly, online conference registration remains available throughout, though increased costs for both individual and family registrations will apply after September 27. Registrations on site are welcome, though they too will entail the higher cost.

Please consider registering as early as possible! Doing so will avoid the additional cost of the conference, yet it will also help those who are involved in the numerous aspects of planning.

Please note that there are no refunds after October 13, 2023. Following the conference, recordings will be made available to all registrants until December 31, 2023.

Updates will continue to be entered in these site pages as they become available.

COVID-19

We all look forward to being together, both on site and virtually! For on-site attendance, please note that there is no guidance on COVID-19 measures provided at this time. We nonetheless ask that registrants who have chosen to attend in person please join us online instead if you are ill or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19.
