Christy VanRooyen is an assistant professor in the Natural Science department at Oregon Tech and the co-advisor for the student bee keeping association on campus. She got her start in apiculture during graduate school when she served as a research intern with the Bee Girl Organization studying native pollinators. She is the board secretary for the Klamath Basin Beekeepers Association. She resides in Klamath Falls with her husband and their three children where she uses beekeeping as an educational tool for promoting awareness about the ecological importance of pollinator species.
