The Biggest Bee Plant Network in the WORLD and Why It Matters to You

Your very own Oregon Bee Atlas has been chugging along recording weird bees across Oregon. In addition to turning up the darnedest bees, and countless new state records, our Master Melittologist volunteers have been diligently documented which plants bees are using. This has resulted in the most comprehensive network of bee-plant interactions. The talk will reveal some of the most important bee plants of the state and discuss what it means for: a) initiatives to get farmers to plant more bee plants and b) ensuring we have sound policy for maximizing resources for honey bees AND out 700+ wild species.

Andony Melathopoulos is an Associate Professor in Pollinator Health Extension in the Department of Horticulture at Oregon State University, which was the first such position in the US.
