2300 LEO HARRIS PARKWAY
Lane County Beekeepers Association, joined by the Oregon Bee Project and the North American Butterfly Association, will have a booth to share our appreciation for pollinators in our world. There will be an observation hive of honeybees, three western Langstroth hive boxes, stenciled with flowers, bees and butterflies for children, ages 6 and above, to paint, as well as coloring pages of pollinators for younger children.
GloryBee in Eugene donated the hive boxes, which will be given to the Oregon Bee Project for the OSBA Annual Conference in October in Salem. They will have the boxes in their booth and there will be a silent auction, all funds going to the Oregon Bee Project. The Science Center is donating the space to hold this important event in an effort to educate children and families about the importance of the variety of pollinators.
